What Does it Mean to \u2018Transfer\u2019?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Transferring means leaving your current college to enrol at a different school to continue both your academics and athletics. It involves contacting other coaches directly or entering the NCAA Transfer Portal so other schools can contact you. Why Do Athletes Transfer?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

There are lots of reasons why student-athletes decide to transfer. Sometimes it\u2019s about playing time- they want to be on the field more. Other times, coaching changes or shifts in team culture prompt athletes to look for a better fit. For some, academics or personal reasons play a big role, while others want to move to a different competitive level, such as transferring from a junior college to a university, or from Division II to Division I. Whatever your reason, transferring is a major decision that deserves careful thought.<\/p>\n

What is the Process of Transferring?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The process of transferring will look different for everyone, depending on the situation from which you are transferring from. The main thing that will get this process up and running is notifying your current coach of your decision. Once you have taken this step, you can then start the recruiting process of contacting coaches.
